KhataBook connects live to Google Firebase Realtime Database with end-to-end HTTPS/SSL encryption. Your financial accounts, parties, and transaction records are private to your authenticated account and are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties.

We use official Google OAuth for authentication. KhataBook never accesses or stores your Google password. We only read your basic profile info (email and display name) to identify your personal ledger.

You have full ownership of your records. You can download an offline JSON Smart Backup of all your accounts and transactions at any time using the Take Backup feature, and restore it whenever needed.

When participating in group trips, expense entries and split calculations are visible only to members you or your trip administrator invite and approve via secure trip links.

KhataBook is provided as a digital bookkeeping and expense calculation tool. Users are encouraged to maintain periodic backups of their business and personal financial ledgers.
